History of the “Gin Sling”:
A “Sling” is really a punch that consists of sugar, water, liquor and bitters or brandy. Over time the Sling became more complex with the addition of fruit juices and additional spices. Today there are a host of Sling recipes. The most recognizable is the Singapore Sling which has Gin, Benedictine, Grand Marnier, cherry liqueur, bitters, lime juice, and club soda.
The Pomegranate Sling is so simple. It only requires 5 ingredients: Gin, Pomegranate juice, fresh lime, simple syrup and a lime wedge.
